Wastewater reuse

The textile and clothing industry is one of the most important global industries in Europe. In the field of water management, the textile finishing industry is still one of the largest water consumers in Europe. Therefore, in order to reduce the environmental impact, substantial reduction in fresh water use and the related effluent discharges need to be addressed by implementing available and emerging technologies, such as wastewater treatment plants. This approach is in line with the ideas discussed in the strategic innovation and research agenda of the European Technology Platform for the Future of Textiles and Clothing, and positions Tekstina among the leading sustainable fabric producers.

ON-SITE implementation OF WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANT
PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING BENEFITS:

Reduction in demand for industrial fresh water and a closed hydrological cycle

30%

On-site power generation

Reduction of environmental impact

Use of alternative water sources

Replacement of 100% use of drinking water for industrial application

Renewable energy

Human activity is overloading our atmosphere with carbon dioxide and other global warming emissions, which trap heat, steadily drive up the planet’s temperature, and create significant and harmful impacts on our health, our environment, and our climate. In contrast to most energy sources, the majority of renewable sources produce little to no warming emissions. As renewable energy is a critical part of reducing global carbon emissions, Tekstina decided to build an on-site renewable solar power plant, which will cover 30% of its energy requirements.

The main advantage of solar energy is that it does not produce any pollutants and is one of the cleanest sources of energy.

WE ARE HAPPY TO CONTRIBUTE TO ENVIRONMENTAL PRESERVATION
TEKSTINA IS CONSTANTLY SEARCHING FOR WAYS TO IMPROVE ITS PRODUCTION AND THUS CONTRIBUTE TO PRESERVING THE ENVIRONMENT.
